Daio and Tatsuta Sustainable RFID Antenna
Congratulations to Daio on the Launch of Sustainable Copper-on-Paper RFID Antennas in Collaboration with Tatsuta! 🌍
By transitioning to paper-based printed RFID, Daio is eliminating plastic and non-degradable aluminum from current RFID tags. This breakthrough innovation makes the antennas fully biodegradable, a game-changer for the grocery sector, and a major step toward reducing the environmental impact of the over 50 billion RFID tags produced annually. 🌿
To put it in perspective, the environmental burden of aluminum RFID antennas is like dumping tens of millions of aluminum soda cans into the ocean each year! These eco-friendly RFID tags will be showcased at the Daio booth during the International Logistics Exhibition at Tokyo Big Sight next week.
Daio Engineering has developed the world’s first paper-based RFID tag using sustainable paper and copper nano ink, in partnership with Tatsuta Electric Wire Co., Ltd. and Daio Paper. This collaboration enables reduced production lots and delivery times, while maintaining the same cost as traditional aluminum antennas. Furthermore, because the paper base material disintegrates when peeled off from the substrate, it offers enhanced security against fraud and counterfeit products.
This product is poised to make a significant impact both domestically and internationally, contributing to the reduction of plastic and fostering more sustainable manufacturing practices.
